On March 28, 2011, the New York Times began charging for access to its Web edition. Why use the Academic Pass to read the NYTimes online? This would eliminate the cookie requiring the user to log into the site if the cookie has been removed. Another issue could be automatic cache clearing setup on your computer. Eliminating these setting should resolve that problem. These settings inhibit the use of cookies and therefore the user would be prompted to log into each time they want to access the site. Once you have followed the steps for first-time users and activated an Academic Pass provided by your school, it should allow you full access for 52 weeks (364 days) with no further action on your part. If you still do not receive it, send an email from your school email account to you wish to subscribe to a CUNY academic pass and you already have a subscription (or have registered) with NYTimes Digital and you used your CUNY email on that subscription, you should change the email address on that subscription (to any email address that does not have a CUNY domain) and then use your CUNY email to get the academic pass. If you don't get our confirmation email, check your spam filter.This will simultaneously verify your eligibility and grant your Academic Pass, which will provide access to for your campus designated period Click on the link in our confirmation email.If your email address is from a CUNY College, you will then see "Check your email." Look for our message, Confirm Your Email Address, which should arrive within 15 minutes.At the bottom of the Welcome page, click "Continue.".Click on "Register" to create a account using your CUNY college email address.The Academic Pass provides you with full access to and the smartphone apps* for a period of 52 weeks from the date you activate it.
